Check out the fresh and funky collection from designer Nic Fish. Designer Nicole Fisher began creating garments for musicians and soon applied a similar sense of bold design to her own eye catching collections. Most of the items are convertible and each garment is hand made. If you can get past the major arms and legs on this model...check out the shop here.

The BLACKARAZZI team had the pleasure of shooting behind the scenes of Kindred The Family Soul's latest video "House of Love", the single off their latest album, "The Arrival." While on set we met Nicole, the owner and operator of fashion label NIC*FISH. Nicole is a native of Philadelphia, PA and was educated at Howard University and the Fashion Institute of Technology.

It’s no secret that we want to be superheroes. We just haven’t figured out how to make chili con queso with our minds yet.
But we can still dress like a wonder woman. And no one suits up our fantastic asses better than Nic Fish.

I would be willing to bet that some of your Parlouristas woke up this morning with absolutely no idea what to wear. It’s hot in your office, but cold outside, or vice versa. You have two events after-work in which you must be fly, yet walking three blocks to the train in killer heels is not in your agenda– for today. You feel like you have no clothes, yet are standing in-front of a closet full of threads. Ladies, you not only need a cocktail by 9am, you simply need better options.
.
With this in mind, we were ultra excited when we learned that one of our fav independent clothiers, Nic*Fish, has recently released a fall line that can fluctuate between your many moods, climates (you know how we just love to spend cold months in hot places) and agendas. Created by Philly girl, Nicole Fisher, Nic*Fish describes itself as “a contemporary womenswear label designed specifically for fabulously trendsetting women, globally.” Some of our favorite pieces in her new collection is the convertible jumpsuit (pictured left), and the hankie tube dress, which can also be worn as a skirt. Most importantly, the cuts are fairly simple yet funky, allowing you the chance to personalize any look to suit your fancy without looking like every other woman.
Luckily, our proximity to Philadelphia allows for a quick run to load-up on Nic*Fish goods, but for our far-away ladies, looks from her line can be purchased at Etsy.com.
Get more acquainted with Nic*Fish.
Ciao Lovelies!

Behind the Seam
With great success of her 2006 debut collection Vargas vs. Dancehall, Nicole Fisher, designer of Nic*Fish, takes us on a Tropical Trip with “Florida Water”…
What began as a childhood dream, soon developed into a promising fashion line and blooming business for Nicole Fisher, designer and ringleader of the contemporary women’s wear line NIC*FISH. The Philadelphia native recalls wanting to be a designer since before she knew how to spell the word. Destined for a life in the arts, Fisher grew up amongst the likes of local fashion talent, designers and models. Her earliest memories are that of the creative industry that would ultimately take her captive
With each new collection, the goal is to stay in tuned with what my customer wants,” adds the designer. Which explains NIC*FISH’s latest collection “Florida Water.” Inspired by the land, sea and sky of the Caribbean, one of her favorite travel destinations, Florida Water tells a story of a female who enjoys the finer things as well as the comfort life has to offer .
Different from Fisher’s previous collection Vargas vs. Dancehall, which attracted celebrity clients such as recording artist Esthero, Fisher describes Florida Water, as being more refined. Though Vargas received an ample amount of support from the entertainment industry, she hopes that Florida Water will do just as well and even appeal to a broader range of fashion clients.
So what’s next for this rising style star? Expect to see pieces of NIC*FISH sprouting about in boutiques and invitation only trunk shows throughout the city. Currently Nic is manufacturing the new collection while brewing up new ideas to take the line to the next level.
